The next browser i will discuss is opera mini. Opera mini is a java based browser that use server compression to make your browsing experience faster. Similar to the skyfire browser but still lacks flash or sliverlite. So no videos or java applications. Instead you will see that common icon saying that you need a flash plugin. The browser does try to give you desktop experience by showing you the whole page and giving you the option to zoom in on certain portions of the web page. The only problems is that with lower resoultion screens like qvga landscape or protrait (320x240) the full page looks unreadable intil zoomed in. But opera mini also includes other options built into the browser. It has a decent rss reader/ feeder. All you need it the url of the rss feed you wish to view and it will automaticlly update the newest feed. The browser also does a good job compressing data. you can also sync your bookmarks from your desktop and browse all your favorite sites on the go. Keep in mind that this is a java based browser meaning that your phone must support java. Also note that almost all modern gsm phones support java .
The next browser ill talk about is iris browser from touch mobile. This is a fairly new windows mobile web browser based on the webkit engine. The browser is semi slow browse requiring more time to load common site. This browser also show a desk top experience with modes to view the pages .
There are other window smartphone browser like teashark also a java based browser. unlike the pocket pc operating system there is alot more browsers to choose from like opera 9.5, netfront.
In the next post im will disuss the diffrent streaming video apps. Not what you would think. stay tunned for more
