mini Review of the sprint htc touch pro

i just got a new sprint(cdma) touch pro. so the far the device has been nothing but great. I also have in my hands a unlocked htc touch pro for use on a gsm carrier. As you can see in the pictures the cdma version looks a tad bigger, you will also notice the different housing. theses two touch pro are the same minus the fm radio and the housing, unlike the verizon one that will be crippled with a smaller processor.

the first thing ill discuss is the screen
the phone features a very bright and crisp 2.8 inch screen, with a resolution of 480x640. its a shame that unlike higher end nokia phones it only displays 65k colors. if would have been better to see it support up to the 16 millon colors. even though it doesn't support 16 millons colors image and graphics still look amazing on the screen due to the higher resolution screen. currently there is only one other screen resolution on a mobile device that is higher. that would be the 800x400 display that can be found on the sony xperia and the htc touch hd. one of the things that bothers me is that the screen isn't that usable in direct sunlight, a common problem on most windows phones. below are some screen shots showing the graphics

the next thing is hardware
the are technically only seven buttons on the device, that is besides the keyboard. you have a home button, that will take you the home screen when you push it regardless of the application your in. the second is the back arrow that pretty much just takes you back the last task or thing you were doing. the 3rd and 4th are the end and call buttons. the 5th and 6th are the volume buttons and the next is the power button, that either yes as you would guess turn off the device but it also turn the back light off. the last is is the new scroll wheel/ 4 way button. it serves two purpose. one is scrolling there the menus/programs up and down or side to side. but it also can be set to scroll by simply rotating your finger over circle.
the slide out keyboard is in my opinion better then the htc kasier and the nokia e71 both my previous devices. the buttons felt solid not to smushie or to hard. the keyboard has shortcuts to send text messages as well to the mail in box. it also has the communication manger and a shortcut to opera. the key pads are a little different between the gsm and cdma version i have.
